They say that if you can remember 1967, you weren't there. But it's not that you can't remember some bits almost like yesterday, it's that most of it is purple haze, naturally.
Anyway, "1967" is for all those who have forgotten and would like to be reminded; those who missed out because they were too old and didn't understand; those who missed out because they had no idea what was going on; and those who were born too late and want to taste the flavour.
Most of it really did happen, of course, but not always in the same order as I've written it or to the same people, and yes, "1967" is a work of absolute fiction.
It's sad that some of my friends aren't around any more to laugh about the details. But if any of them do manage to read this and recognise themselves, drop me an email. I'd love to hear from you and to know that you're still alive and kicking.
By the way, "1967" will be in draft until it's actually, if ever, published properly, and so if you see any facts that you'd like to correct - or if you'd like to add to any of the detail, well email me about that too!
